iTunes not detecting devices

I am currently running Windows 7 64bit.

On a regular basis iTunes stops detecting all of my devices - iPad 2, iPhone 4 and iPhone 3G.

If I disconnect the device (whichever is connected) and restart the 'Apple Mobile Device' service, plugging back in the device is then detected again.

This is an easy enough bubblegum fix however, I would not expect my Wife to go through this process when she wants to sync her iPhone.

I have 'repaired' iTunes (an option available when installing same version as currently installed).

I have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes.

Neither of these have resolved the problem.

Whilst iTunes doesn't detect my device, Windows sees it absoluely fine.

I am also running the latest version of iTunes.

Is there anything else I can try as it is slowly driving me mad!

Thank you.

PC, Windows Vista
