My iPod Nano 6th gen. stops playing music when the button lock is activated, why?

Can anyone help? My iPod stops playing when the button lock is activated. Why I don't know. Anyone know what to do?

Thanks in advance!

It sounds like your iPod's headphones/earbuds are not plugged all the way in meaning your iPod is not registering a full connection. Make sure there is no metal from the jack showing. Inserting the headphones all the way in may require a bit of extra push and you should actually hit a sort of clicking or popping sound when you have fully inserted them.
