Viber. conversations deleted

We actually haven't encountered such a problem before. It sounds as though you simply reinstalled your Viber app. Once you do that, your call log and message history is deleted, and unfortunately it can't be retrieved.

Do you remember if you might have reinstalled it by accident?

I have exacly the same problem !

since the last Os upgrade, all my Viber messages (conversations) are erased every time I switch off and on my iPhone. It's very annoying, I need to keep most of my messages !

Please could you solve this problem ?

@sam-rt - as we said, this problem is not familiar to us. From the way you describe it, it sounds as if once you uninstalled and reinstalled Viber, everything has been working fine. Is this really the case?

@dcombes - unlike sam-rt's problem (with the older versions of Viber), the problem you are describing (in iOS5 with the latest version of Viber installed) is known to us and we have actually already fixed it. The new fixed version will be available hopefully within the next several days on AppStore (Viber 2.1.2).

@Nambatri - we are aware of this issue and it should be resolved in our upcoming new version - Viber 2.1.3 (Should be available in AppStore within the next several days).

We would appreciate if you could report back to us whether or not the problem has been fixed for you in that new version.

@theViberTeam - when the new upgrade is made available, will the messages that have been lost be restored? I have some very, very extremely important messages that have been deleted and it is quite vital I retrieve them, however that may be.

As we have committed to our users, we do *not* keep or store our users' chat history in our servers (which is a good thing), and that is why retreiving the messages will not be possible.

We are ware of the inconvenience caused, and we are terribly sorry for the loss of the message history 😟

When does the upgrade come out? you post said a few days, but it has been longer. I love Viber, but today I just lost all my text messages and they were important. Although Viber is free, I would have been willing to pay if I knew I was going to lose all my messages 😟 And I advertise for you. I tell anyone with an iPhone if they dont have viber, they should get it because it rocks....well it did before my texts got deleted!

@superpimp - you are absolutely right, and we apologize for the inconvenience that's still being caused.

The reason for the delay is our will to include more fixes, so other users with different problems aren't neglected. We are doing our best so it is ready soon, and all problems are solved.

Once we have updates, we will certainly post it on our Facebook page for our users to see.

So - just to be clear - Once deleted - there is absolutly no way to restore deleted messages or call-loggs? ´Cause everytime I turn my iPhone 4S off (downloaded Viber in beginning of nov´11) all history dissapears. It also updates contactlist from scratch. I never vibe important stuff, still it´s irritating.

Yes, unfortunately there is no way to restore the messages and call logs since we don't keep our users' chat history in our server (we care about Privacy).

As I explained, this issue is known to us, and we apologize for the temporary inconvenience.

It will be resolved in our upcoming 2.1.3 (released to AppStore soon).

Most of my msgs disappeared all the sudden(only msgs that i sent out yesterday are still in the history).

And when the screen is locked, i can see notification of new msgs that i received from Viber, however, once i log on to viber, i couldnt find any new msgs at all.

(When I am logged in to Viber, I was able to sent out msgs to my friend, and they received it, and i was also able to receive viber instant msgs from my friend, but when my screen is locked, i can only receive notifications, but the messages won't appear once i log on to viber)

I didn't delet and reinstall Viber, and i have the latest version (2.1.3.244).

why is this happening?

I experience the same problem as vtech_88, on an iPhone 4 with iOS 5.0.1 and latest version of Viber. I know the problem started after the upgrade to iOS 5, but I'm unsure about if/when I updated viber, so I can't say for sure if it worked for a while with iOS 5. I know I didn't have the problem before the iOS upgrade.

Is there any date set for Viber 2.1.4?

There is no exact release date yet, but we're doing the best we can so it is released as soon as possible.
Once we have news on that, we will post it on our Facebook page.

May I kindly ask you to report this problem to our support team at thttp://bit.ly/ukGVJ0 ? The more information we have on this problem, the faster we will be able to identify its source, and hopefully fix it.

Same problem as vtech, iPhone4 with IOS 5.0.1. Unusable as it is, the notifications are coming thick and fast, but no way to read them as the viber app seem to be unaware of those messages.

Do you have an ETA for a fix?
