I want to backup my IPad, just for safekeeping.  How do I do this?  I don't actually have my own computer right now, but I can use someone else's to do this if necessary. I saw devices that are basically portable hard drives called "ClickFree", with a new C6 version that backs up software (for Apps), but was told I still need a computer to transfer the data. Are these types of devices any good?  I'm not tech-savvy and don't know what can or cannot be backed up, and what is the easiest way.  The computer I would borrow is Windows driven, not a Mac.  Please help my poor novice soul.  Thanks for your time and help!

You really should have a computer. The iPad is not a replacement for one. You would need to connect to iTunes, authorize the computer and sync content over so you have it stored in iTunes (backing up to an external drive is a good idea as well) and an iPad backup file would be created as well

If anything happened to the iPad your content would be lost. You would be reliant on the other computer and one should be syncing regularly so it would be hard to do.
