When I go to delete email from my iPad, it loads the email as I select to delete. I don't want this because I don't want to load an email that is SPAM. How do I make it NOT load emails as I select to delete.

Try the "swipe to delete" method. When you are viewing the emails in the list in the inbox, swipe the message from left to right and a red delete button pops up. Tap the delete button to delete the email. It will go to the trash folder so you still have to delete them in there but you should be able to use the swipe to dlete there as well.
