iTunes can't recognize iPad

I realize this is an extremely common problem, but I've already been through all the support for it and sofar the only thing that's worked was reinstalling iTunes (which is abit extreme if I have to do it every time I want to sync my iPad) Iknow it's not necessarily my computer, though, because I can at leastsee my iPad as a portable device when I plug it in. (though thesection on that wasn't helpful, either, because I'm still stuck withthis)

If anyone could please help me withthis, without giving me a runaround to support pages I've alreadybeen to, I'd really appreciate it.

I understand your frustration but we have no way of knowing exactly which support pages you have already visited.

Maybe your security software or Firewall...

Have you tried here? iTunes for Windows: Troubleshooting security software issues

I've started turning off the active guard from my security software whenever I open iTunes because it tends to mess with my downloads a lot and stop me from connecting to the store; it didn't really effect my iPad's connection to iTunes before, but I don't think that's what's causing this problem.

I pretty much just meant the support pages iTunes took me to for help with the diginostics and the ones I mentioned; other than that I'm not sure if there's anything I might have missed that could help more with this.
