Safari Can't Connect Online ...

Safari Can't Connect Online ...

Safari will no longer go online ... Just happened this morning. I tried rebooting the router many times. Also rebooted the Modem. Restarted my MacPro many times ....

Trashed Safari and reinstalled fresh copy from Apple.

Safari still will not go online at all. Continue to get this error message:

"Safari can't connect to the server.

Safari can't open the page "http://www.google.com/" because Safari can't connect to the server "www.google.com".

MacPro 2.93GHz, Mac OS X (10.6.6), 8GB RAM

Safari cannot go online (again) ....

I tried to find the Cookies, so I could delete them, but there is no setting for Cookies to be found ....

I checked the Preferences > Security, but no Cookies Menu anywhere ....

Any ideas how to get Safari working again ... ???

Cookies have nothing to do with your problem.

What happened on Aug. 21? Did you have a modified hosts file, and if so, did you repair it?

I reset Safari and that seems to have solved the problem.

I don't know what a modified hosts file is ....

I did run Disk Warrior today, but there wasn't anything seriously wrong, and only 3% of files were fragmented.
