I'd like to enter the IMAP path so I can access my Gmail email account on my iPhone. I'm confused about what to enter for IMAP path prefix. The information available is unclear.

Meg is correct. When you set up email the way she described, all you have to do is enter your email address and password. The technicalities are taken care of behind the scenes. 🙂

I'm currently having this same issue, getting the error message "mail server "imap.gmail.com" is not responding. Verify that yo have entered the correct account info in Mail settings". My mail was previously working just fine, but i connected my phone to my Mac yesterday and it's not working ever since...anyone have any ideas how I can get my gmail account back on my iphone?? I believe the default settings when you set up an a Gmail account in Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Accounts will do what you need.
