I live in the US and my friend in Brazil asked me to buy an apple iTunes gift card for her. Can she use this iTunes gift card to buy and download stuff in the American iTunes site to her device in Brazil? Seems to be a better method than using credit cards but I'm concerned that she has a non-US ip address and her purchase might be blocked.

Does the same apply to the App Store? So in other words, I should not buy her an iTunes giftcard, because she won't be able to buy anything in Brazil with it...
Thank you for the link. When I go to the Brazilian link, it clearly shows that the only way to buy itunes gift card is online to the apple store (US). No wonder my friend asked me... it is very confusing. If they tell you to buy in the American website then it should work in Brazil otherwise they should clearly say it is not possible to purchase itunes gift card.
