Lion Asks Me to Select a Startup Disk Each Restart, why?

Every time I restart LIon, it asks me to select a startup disk, as if I was holding down the option key.

Thing is, I'm not.

In system prefereces, I've selected the internal harddrive as the startup disk, but it makes no difference. It still asks me to choose between the Lion Disk, the recovery partition, and a backup clone I have connected.

Obviously, I want to stop this behavior. How can I do it?

Try repairing the disk from the Recovery Partition.

I don't know whaat gave you that impression, but I don't, actually.

I did a restart today (first in about 3 weeks), and the problem I described happened.

I tried several restarts just to test it out, to see if this was just a one time anomaly, or something more.

Since this is not the default behavior, I want to change it back (and understand why the system began to do this), that's all.

I get:

finderinfo[0]: 116 => Blessed System Folder is /System/Library/CoreServices

finderinfo[1]: 280701 => Blessed System File is /System/Library/CoreServices/boot.efi

finderinfo[2]: 0 => Open-folder linked list empty

finderinfo[3]: 0 => No alternate OS blessed file/folder

finderinfo[4]: 0 => Unused field unset

finderinfo[5]: 116 => OS X blessed folder is /System/Library/CoreServices

64-bit VSDB volume id: 0xD30F967B6B2A99DF

Anything off there? (I not only want to fix it, but understand what's wrong)

Does that mean I should try the second command?
