I setup file sharing on my Lion server but I can not for the life of me see where to check who is connected. I see one area where it says how many users are connected but not who they are. Is this option avialable?

Use the 10.7 Server admin tools. The same as the 10.6.x server admin tools, only updated to connect to the 10.7 server.
No go as far as server admin tools. Well at least for me. As there is no filesharing service available, I am unable to admin users. RIght now my server has four connected users and I have no idea who they are. By the way do I know you?
Yeah, My bad, I can't find Filesharing tools in there either. Still looking though. I could swear i saw this info somewhere.
I second this. Not being able to view the usernames of connected users and message/disconnect users is extremely annoying.
if your server is a DHCP then you can see connected clients via the server admin tools and kick or deny them from there. Can't message them though.
Thought I'd chime back in and say that all of this is still possible in Lion Server, it's just that Apple has moved it away from the GUI.
For example you can view all connected AFP users by running this in Terminal:
serveradmin command afp:command = getConnectedUsers | grep "name"You can run similar commands to send messages to and disconnect users. So it's still possible, it's just more work than it used to be.
I know this is an old thread, and may not even be relevant anymore, but you can see all the connected users (and disconnect them if needed) in the Server app in the File Sharing section.
Once it loads all the info (took my machine about 30 seconds or so) there is a Connected Users tab.
