How do I get Windows Migration Assistant to connect?

I have a new iMac and a Windows XP machine, Service Pack 3, on the same ethernet network. I have the Windows Migration Assistant loaded on the PC and the latest version of Lion (10.7.1) on the iMac. The Migration Assistant of the Mac has generated its code and says it is "Authenticating". The Windows machine, however is "Waiting for your Mac to connect." I am unable to get past this screen. The Mac's code never displays on the PC so migration cannot take place. Help!

The Windows PC is probably running Mcafee or Norton Antivirus with the Firewall turned on. You need to disable the Firewall and turn off Microsoft Autoupdate, Java Autoupdate, Apple Software Updater, and anything else that might start running and cause the WMA to crash.

Finally, after several tries over Wireless that never completed, I hooked up an Ethernet cable and it is running much faster.

I wish I could say I evenm go tot that point where wireless bombed. Like the OP, the authentication never happened. The last trial was with:

Bonjour updated and running.

Windows Defender disabled in Services, and removed from Startup.

ESET NOD32 disabled in Services, (which I had to do in SAFE mode), and removed from Startup.

Windows Firewall on, but with Bonjour and Migration Assistant set as exceptions.

Mac and PC connected via Ethernet, WiFi turned off on Mac.

Not good.
