Horizontal scrollbars behaving oddly

I'm having the same problem with Logic Pro 9. Exasperating. I didn't upgrade to version 9 until Lion forced it upon me... and am wondering if this bug is related to Lion.

Same problem. Searched everywhere and cannot find an answer. VERY irritating - especially when trying to edit in Piano Roll. Help Apple!!!

Just found a short-term solution until Apple (hopefully) fixes the problem. If you have a mouse with a scrollwheel, hold down your Shift key while scrolling and it will scroll horizontally. The scrollbar doesn't jump when you do this.

BTW, in case Apple monitors these posts, I am using Logic Pro 9 on a Mac Pro with OS X Lion. The scrollbar problem did not start until I upgraded to Lion.

Same problem here, but it seems also related to the screen in use, at least in my setup. I'm running Logic on my MacBook with a native screen resolution of 1200x800. I have a second screen attached above it with a resolution of 1920x1080 which I use for the main Arranger screen, the MacBook screen itself is mainly used for displaying the mixer and AU's.

When the arranger screen is on my larger display the horizontal scrollbar is flying all over the place when I try to move it, but when I have the arranger window on my MacBook's screen it behaves normally. Seems like if Logic gets confused by the different widths of the screens, like if it is behaving to have 1200 pixels to scroll on while there are 1920.

Whatever happens, it's kind of annoying...

Same problem for me.. Mini OS X 10.7.3 with standard keyboard and mouse. No solutions that I can see?

Having this same problem! Vertical scroll works perfectly. Horizontal centers back whenever it wants too. Very Annoying! Almost impossible to arrange regions precisely either in the main arrange or piano roll. Avid Logic user for the past 3 years and never had this problem...until I cleared and refresh my Imac 10.6.8 and reinstalled Logic Pro 9 w/ lasest updates.

What's going on with this, has anyone found any solutions? The temporary fix using the space bar does not work for me.

Hallo, I have the same problem with Logic Pro X 10.2.1 and MacOS El Captain (10.11.6 (15G31)).

When windows is all the way zoomed out (ie: you can see head and end of each track horizzontally), there's no issue.

When zooming in on a part of a song (ie: loop section) there's no issue unless I select a looped region, in this latter case when I hit the play key (space) and then stop the playback the window will blink, moving the header forward than backward.

I tracked the issue as following.

• I update the MacOS Version, no improvement -> not macos related issue.
• Then I focused on the project (aka song). Just on song had this problem so it's a project related issue.
• I selected all the tracks and then pasted into a new created song, so it's a per track related issue.
• Then I deleted every single track one by one, I discovered one track was causing the issue.
• The track was a MIDI (aka software instrument) copied from another project, so I assume than copying a MIDI track from a project to another one will cause the problem, probably because Logic Pro will carry some information during cut&paste manoeuvre that is not interpreted correctly.

So my advice is to not to copy MIDI looped regions from project to project and if you want to test, try on a backup copy (aka alternative) of the project to delete possibly "misbehaviouring" track.
