Ok, say I have an album and all the tracks have an artist name : 'Superman'. But one has the artist name 'Superman ' (notice there's a space after the last 'n').
If that doesn't work - in iTunes hold down the control key and click each of the tracks by that artist so they are all highlighted. Then right click the mouse and click on get info. Then retype artist name. Hopefully this should work.
I have been using for a while, and have a few housekeeping issues with it. The main one is duplicate artist entries - but not the same duplicate artist entries problem that other people have.
I have ripped the Gorillaz - Demon Days album onto my PC - whenever i rip a CD, I manually check the artist / track title / album info from the "properties" tab on the MP3 file itself from within Windows Explorer - I know its a tedious process - but at least all of the information is correct. I also know that itunes and the ipod get the artist / track title and album info from this source. (All of the information is hidden behind the advanced tab in windows)
Right - I ripped the album, and on my PC - all of the tracks from the album simply show "Gorillaz" as the artist. When the folder is added to itunes - magically itunes adds some artists from somewhere;
e.g.
Gorillaz - Intro
Last Living Souls
Kids With Guns
O Green World
El Manana
Every Planet We Reach Is Dead
White Light
Dare
Fire Coming Out Of....
Don't Get Lost In Heaven
Demon Days
Gorillaz/Gorillaz - Dirty Harry
Feel Good Inc
Gorillaz/MF Doom - November Has Come
Gorillaz/Roots Manuva - All Alone
Now this is really getting on my tits. I cannot find any way of removing the Gorillaz/..... entries. I want all of the tracks from the single album listed under a single artist. I do not care whether Roots Manuva was a co-writer of the song.
What's worse - is where is my PC & itunes getting this information from? It is not in the MP3 file itself, as I have manually overwritten all of this information myself.
I don't understand it - can someone please help???
Thanks alot.

Highlight all songs for the artist, right click, get info, then in the artist box, type for example "Nirvana" and click OK. This should change them all.
