Mail.App Exchange Alias

I'm having an issue with Exchange support under Lion's Mail.App. I have an account name that is {first initial}+{last name} and my alias (where people send email to) is {first name}.{last name}@

Under preferences, accounts, email addresses, it is greyed out and I can't add my alias like for mobileme or other account types.

I've tried setting it up with both the real account name and alias (both setup and work) but both grey out the email line. The problem is if the email is sent to the other address, not defined in the email addresses, reply-all adds me to the rcpts.

Thoughts?

Hey Chris,

I finally found a solution. You can edit this file where USERNAME = users acutal account on the mac:

Close Mail.

Go to:

/Users/USERNAME/Library/Mail/V2/MailData/accounts.plist

Under this:

<key>EmailAddresses</key>

<array>

<string>mail@mac.com</string>

</array>

Type:

<key>EmailAliases</key>

<array>

<dict>

<key>alias</key>

<string>aliasmail@aliasblahblah.com</string>

<key>name</key>

<string>Name 1</string>

</dict>

</array>

Save version of file.

Open Mail.

I hope this helps - it seemed to work for me.
