Is there a way to disable my stolen IPAD

Did you have Find My iPhone/iPad/Ipod Touch App on it? If so, was your iPad on? You can wipe everything, Lock it or display a message on it. Otherwise I hope you had Apple care on it.
The only way to Disable a stolen iPad is if Find My iPad was turned on and the iPad has a conenction to WIFI...
Contact your local police and provide them with the serial number... I know it may sound funny to do but if the iPad is returned, that is the first place it will go.
Get your Serial in iTunes by going
MAC = iTunes Menu -> Preferences -> Hover your mouse over the name of your iPad to reveal S/N
Windows = Edit -> Preferences -> Devices -> Hover your mouse over the name of your iPad to reveal S/N
You can only do this with a computer you synced your iPad with in the past.
Good idea to provide them with Serial Number so they know to call you.
My iPad was stolen yesterdey too. There is any way to registry in iTunes or Apple Store my serial number as a stolen iPad?
I think that is a nice way to prevent anyone with a stolen device to use iTunes or Apple Store.

No there isn't - if you hadn't set up MobileMe/Find My iPad on it before it was taken (which might allow you to locate it and/or remotely wipe it), then all you can do is report it to the police and change your iTunes account password, email passwords, and any passwords stored on websites or in emails/notes etc.
im pretty sure i had it set up, but how do i find out for sure.
i found a device backup in the preferences section of itunes for the ipad. can i get my serial number from that?
