Halo: Can't get keyboard to work on iBook/G4 1.33?

Anyone else have an issue with Halo on Tiger and an iBook/G4? I can use the keyboard to type in a name for the "profile" in Halo, but if I start the game or select SETTINGS, the keyboard goes brain dead!

I can still use the mouse to look around, but no response from the keyboard at all. I have to use Force Quit to stop it. I have already applied the 1.52 update.

iBook/G4 1.33
768Mb RAM
60Gb HD w/7Gb Free
10.4.4 (all updates loaded)
AE

P.S. I also tried to remove all the prefs, re-install from scratch and a USB apple keyboard...no luck! 😟

PowerMac G4/500 & iBook G4/1.3, Mac OS X (10.4.4)

I'm having the same problem. I have over 300 Gb of free disc space, so I don't think that's it. The Halo people say it should work. Any other ideas?

Welcome to Apple Discussions!
I have found many games really mean their Recommended system requirements are the minimum for full functionality, and the minimum just means it is playable with some features lacking, and some speed issues. If you read this page's bottom:

http://www.macsoftgames.com/products/halo/MacSoft-Halo.html

I don't think any of the iBooks meet that requirement, since all are stuck on 32MB of VRAM chips.

Might want to check in the iBook forums, and Halo discussions elsewhere if anyone with an iBook has succeeded in using this function.
