Disk Warrior.

Make sure you have two backup sets. TimeMachine plus a clone. Might want or need a recovery drive partition also and Data Rescue 3. An emergency Mac OS 10.6.8 boot volume (30GB) is handy.

- I never use the DVD. Use another boot drive volume instead.

In theory Single User Mode and fsck and follow with Safe Boot can fix some but not those errors.

CCC or SuperDuper (or other) plus Disk Warrior is your best - of course better to have a backup image clone that you can just restore, too.

Warranty: while you wait, go buy a couple drives!

And backup sets.

Then use the replacement drive from Apple (recertified refurbished) as a spare backup.

I should save you the trouble and tell people not to waste their money, except DW can and does work but obviously not on a failed/failing drive.

Do you really feel that bad? Gee, I should tweet that to Facebook fans and others.
