how do I set up a wifi printer

I just bought a MacBook Pro for my wife and want to set up a printer. I have never done this before dealing with two different operating systems. The printer is physically connected to a Windows 7 machine. It is WIFI. I don't think there is a network but the capability is there. I have a wireless router. I want my wife to be able to print to the printer on the windows machine or if it is necessary from a network that will need to be created. She would be using the Macbook Pro in a different room. Hope this is enough information.

What printer is it?


If it's one of the HP printers that supports AirPrint your Mac (and iOS devices) should automatically recognize it once you have connected the printer to your wifi network using the printers built in screen.You can see if your printer is one of the AirPrint enabled printers on the page linked below:
