Can I transfer Mpeg and wmv files to my Ipad and how do I do it?

Just wondering if you can do this

Yes, you can transfer your mpeg or wmv files to you iPad, but they can not be played in iPad, as they are not supported with iPad. So to play them in iPad normally, you should first convert your mpeg or wmv files to mp4, mov, or avi, then transfer the converted mp4(mov, avi) file to your iPad.


What you need is a video converter, and there are many ones on App store or Google. And I just got Total Video Converter, it depends on your demands.

You have 2 choices.

1) convert them to mpeg 4 using one of many tools available.

You dont specify computer os. Handbrake is the usual recommendation. Free, works with almost any format, has presets for apple devices, works on windows, os x.


2) buy an app from the app store that plays them. Avplayerhd is one I own-works well. There are others, search media players in app store.
