When using a full screen app like Safari, if I go back to my desktop and to the dock (which i keep minimized) it stays there when going back to the full screen app. I have to go back to the first page and hover over the dock to get it to go back. Not sure whats going on...

That is as designed so that the dock doesn't just pop up over a full-screen app. You have to make two distinct cursor movements towards the Dock to get it to open. On the Trackpad, I have to slide over to Dock, lift my finger, and slide towards it again. I don't have a mouse, so not sure what the equivelent would be.
I may not have explained exactly...so basically when i go to the main desktop screen, and open a program or use the dock, it sometimes gets stuck in show mode. Then when i go back to the safari full screen app for instance, the dock stays up, with the latest program highlighted. In order to get the dock to go away, i need to go back to the desktop and hover over the dock again for it to hide.
I really hope someone else is experiencing this because its very annoying and I want apple to fix it quickly

I'm havig the exact same issue. I reset a plist somewhere at some point, and the "sticking" wasn't so bad, but it still occurs, ever since I went to Lion.
Yep, I’ve had the same issue ever since Lion (possibly before). I have Mountain Lion now and the dock-sticking issue continues. Has anyone found a work-around for this?
Yeah, I'm using 10.6 and I have been getting that for about a year now. I just blame my kids for doing something - LOL Somebody fix this please.
Hi, I had the same problem and then found that for some unknown reason the "Settings' 'Dock' setting - "Automatically hide and show the Dock" checkbox was no longer ticked. Ticking it again fixed the problem. You can but try!
I also have this problem. Often get it while switching between different desktops..
I found that if I go to dock preferences and then move the dock to either the left or right side then move it back to the bottom (where I normally keep it), the behavior resets and the dock auto-hides when I'm in full-screen app again. I hope this helps.
