Jan 21, 2014 1:33 AM in response to John Lockwoodby felicitysmoak, globalSAN is not free anymore, and it costs a lot. if you need inexpensive iSCSI Initiator, try DAEMON Tools Lite for Mac (http://www.daemon-tools.cc/products/dtMacLite) that allows mounting images and working with iSCSI targets. It works for Mac OS X 10.6 and later.

That is the link to their iSCSI target solution, which is not the same thing. But YES, the iSCSI Initiator is an optional addition to the €6.99 DAEMON Tools Lite for Mac. When including iSCSI Initiator it seems it costs €56.90 which is more or less the same as SNS GlobalSAN at $89.00 (today €56.90 is $77.00). DAEMON Tools solution is then indeed $12.00 less than SNS GlobalSAN, according to today's exchange rate.
I don't mind this, but we're still far from having this standard functionnality included right in the OS. It is at least very good news to see there is a third player providing an iscsi initiator on Mac. Maybe that will slowly show Cupertino the trend.
See details I'm reporting about, here: https://www.disc-soft.com/products/dtMacLite

you are looking at a wrong page, iSCSI Target is a Win solution. Lite for Mac with iSCSI Initiator costs €50. not actually a low price, but still it is better than $200 and $90 for globalSAN so, it may be an option.

Apr 20, 2015 1:01 PM in response to felicitysmoakby nsexpo,For those tech savvy users who are willing to try a new open-source iSCSI initiator for OS X, please see:
https://github.com/iscsi-osx/iSCSIInitiator
It is functional, yet lacks certain features and conveniences (e.g., advanced error recovery, packaged installer). Any developers in this forum who are willing or wanting to participate please contact the project owner.
