Issue with FireWire

Hi,

I'm trying to move data from my PowerBook G4 to my new MacBook Pro. The FireWire symbol comes up on the screen of the PowerBook after restarting and pressing 'T' - but then nothing happens. Any tips? Help would be much appreciated.
