Can a 20" Cinema Display work with a new MacBook Pro?

I'm trying to figure out whether it's worth getting adapters to connect my four-year old 20" Cinema Display to my new MacBook Pro. Assuming i can make the connections work, are they compatible otherwise? Thanks.

I use a 20" Cinema Display with my 13" MBP. Works perfectly in mirror mode at 1680x1050. Use an Apple DVI to mini display port adapter and plug into the Thunderbolt port. I like the 20"'s matte display. Wish Apple still produced matte monitors.
