Exporting lossless from FCP X

I am trying to export my video from FCP X as QT with no compression, but all I get is a list of very few options: Apple Pro Res, H264, DVCPRO HD, HDV and XDCAM. Where is all the other codecs?? And, most important the one we always have used inhouse at our company, "None". We keep our workflow uncompressed until final conversion / delivery for optimal quality. Now I can't find that option, or actually I can't find almost any of the codecs we use. In FCP 7 and QuickTime Pro when I export I can choose from a range of codecs, formats etc., but close to none in FCP X!

Can someone please help me here?!

ProRes 4444 is the closest you get to 'uncompressed.' But if you truly need zero compression of any kind, you'll need to get Compressor- $49 at the App Store.

what is the codec of the media that you are editing?

what is the codec for your render?

i assume it isnt 10 bit uncompressed in either case?

if not uncompressed already then why dont you export from FCP X using current settings with

Share-Export movie? then you could take that into the FCS 3 version of compressor,

but I am not sure if you would really want to do that.

Depends on what the original media you are working with is.

That's the problem, ProRes 4444 is not even remotely close to uncompressed.

Wow - just amazing. So I actually have to buy additional software to be able to export lossless, like I have been doing in every Final Cut version until this one...

Final Cut X continues to amaze me everyday I use it. So far only in a negative way, however.

I hope the dev. team of FCP X are proud of themselves. Phuuummp. (Sound of me throwing FCP X in the trashcan, while promising myself I will never touch it again).

Bravo Apple. Bravo!

Yes, I already downloaded it, but it does not appear in FCP X, but is available as codecs (or it was before I downloaded it also) in QT Pro 7 and FCP 7. If I was able to use Compressor, I probably could make an uncompressed verson from there, but Compressor does not start.

I already own Compressor as it was a part of the FCP 7 Studio package, but FCP X prompts me to buy it and says that I don't have Compressor installed in my computer...
