how do I save a document in rtx format in Lion if the document is already saved

I'm having trouble saving my document as a rich text format in pages. I think I could do it had I not already saved the document. It seems that after I save a document the save as option disappears and it will only let me save it as a version or a template. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks
