Why has front row disappeared from Lion. Is there any way of recovering front row to work with Lion.

Front row is not officially supported in Lion

Another, easier way: go to http://www.mac-hatter.com. Enter Front Row in search box. This will take you to the page from which you can download Front Row Enabler for Lion (also by Ralph). This program will do all the work for you.

Everything except DVD playback can be done from AppleTV that you would normally do with Front Row. You may want to consider an AppleTV. A popular third party alternative to Front Row is:
Just installed OS X Lion, and found that Front Row is missing.!!
Front Row is a simple, intuitively designed program that did an excellent job of displaying home videos and photos.
I know that Apple wants to push it's iCloud service, but if I'm being forced to choose between iCloud and Front Row, I'll take Front Row. I have been a long time Apple user, but Snow Leopard may be the end of the line for me.
