That's right. The warranty is not international. Apple retail have been known to stretch the limits from time to time, but as a rule, you're going to have a really really hard time getting it serviced outside the country of origin.

You can buy the iPhone 4 in India now. Maybe you would be better served to sell the one you have and buy one there if you're concerned about the warranty status.

Srihari

There is no reason to be an a** to someone here volunteering his time trying to help you. If you really are concerned about getting warranty service in India, then you really should consider selling your phone. Yes, you'll take a loss in terms of money, but it sure beats having a broken phone in India with no way to service it.

Also Could you please share me the Apple Director email id and contact number so that i could discuss with him..

This is something ridiculous we Buy a Product for such an huge price after getting confirmation from Apple New Jersey and now you guys say warranty is not covered in other country... Why should I lose such a huge amount being an Apple Customer?

People are only giving you advice, no need to get arsey with Kilted Tim.

Apple sometimes service a phone in a different country, if it can be done, but, as you said there are no apple stores in India, How could they do this? You will either have to hope you dont need the phone servicing, or if something does go wrong go back to the country you got it from.

I think (dont qoute me) if you get applecare you can also have an international warrenty, you will have to look into it

Srihari, everone here are all just fellow users here. No one here can give you any names of Apple employees or contact information beyond what Apple provides for technical support. All anyone here can tell you is what Apple's published policies are, and that is that the warranty on the iPhone is restricted to the country in which the iPhone was originally sold. Indian service centers will almost certainly not provide any warranty service for a US-sold iPhone.

There's nothing else anyone here can tell you. If you want to be certain you can get warranty service in India for an iPhone, you must purchase the iPhone from an authorized reseller in India.

Im sure I can remember a friend of mine (who has a friend that works in an Apple store) say that unlocked phones bought from Apple had international warrenty (similer to laptops) but couldnt remember if the Applecare was mentioned! ??

I spend a lot of time out of the country and the one thing most people take with them is their phone, if my phone deceided to die it would be nice to know it was covered wherever I was.

Im confused 😕 I just remember my friend talking about Applecare being international

Im gonna ask my friend to ask again,

Just had a look on Apples website and found that the original warranty says "Apple may restrict service to the country where Apple or its Authorized Distributors originally sold the hardware product."

AppleCare is international except for the iPhone and a very few other products that are country-specific.

Apple says that the warranty on the iPhone, with or without AppleCare, is restricted to the country of original purchase, as you yourself have found in the iPhone's warranty statement. Again, AppleCare does not change this. I would suggest you nor rely on what some "friend of a friend" has to say.
