Found fuspredownloader.app in Login Elements

When you went to System Preferences and got to the Login Items list, did you click on the "-" button at the bottom so that "fuspredownloader" was deleted? It sounds like you might have clicked on the checkbox to the left of "fuspredownloader". That will only start it hidden or not. You have to make it disappear from the list, then restart.

To get to a hidden folder, you have to use the "Go To Folder..." command off the "Go" menu in Finder.

The .FUS directory is hidden in the ~/Library/Application Support directory. If you go to the Finder's "Go" menu and click on "Go to folder...", then enter ~/Library/Application Support/.FUS, you'll get to it. I'm pretty sure you can copy and paste it right from this post. the "~" will mean your "/Users/blablabla" and the rest will get you there. Because it's hidden, you won't see it going directly from a Finder window, you have to use the "Go" menu.

Now I get it! Sorry, I'm new in this Mac world, but I'll get there sooner or later, lol. I managed to get rid of the fuspredownloader in the Login Items list and also deleted the fuspredownloader inside the .fus folder. Thanks. Just let me ask you one more thing. Do I have to delete the other files or only the fuspredownloader? Thanks again.

You're probably OK deleting the whole .FUS directory. The only thing it's used for is the Kies software. Glad this worked out for you!

I deleted them all, but now the FUS folder will be there forever empty? Is there anyway to delete the empty folder as well?

Just highlight the folder name (like you would an individual file) and send it to the trash.

I can't do that because I don't know how to see the folder itself, I could only access the files inside it.

You're probably in list view. When you use the "Go" menu and "Open a Folder..." and enter ~/Library/Application Support/.FUS you should see something like this:

Make sure that you're in column view like in the picture above. Click the button where I put the lame red arrow so you see columns. You should be able to see the folder and delete it then. Hope this helps!

Kleis is horrible software. It's even worse on Windows. Needed for backing up Samsung Galaxy etc. Good thing to monitor the startup and launch areas for crud like this from time to time. If it was good why would they install it to a hidden directory? No thanks.

Your help is excellent for the novice (me). However, I have the same problem as the original poster but in my case the .fus folder as will as any .fus files are not locatable using your instructions. Could it/they be located in a directory other than /Library/Application Support/? Any furter instructions how I might find them? I uninstalled Kies but the fuspredownloader is still showing up checked in my Login Items.

Which application on the app store is "AppCleaner"? I typed AppCleaner in the search bar on the app store and all I got was IBoostUp.

Thanks for your reply, X423424X, it has just worked its magic again. Kies is as pernicious as a virus, I'd put it in the same group as MacKeeper and Trusteer Rapport.

but what will replace Kies? you either need it or you don't need it. so i guess we have to live with its logon items.

I'm just curious, because I do not seem to have a /System/Library/Extensions I looked in my library and there is no extensions folder, i tried using the go menu as well and it makes one of those error sounding blips and just takes me to my user folder. Is there something else that could be called. I'm using OS Sierra.
