I too had the blank iTunes Store window after downloading iTunes 10.4.  This appears to be a widespread problem for 32 bit and 64 bit Windows 7 systems.  There are several "simple" fixes that I found online that did not work for me and I absolutely refuse to pay Apple Support $50 for their help. The following solution worked for my  32 bit and 64 bit Windows 7 laptops.  My solution was to downgrade the iTunes software.  I uninstalled iTunes 10.4 and reinstalled iTunes 10.3. I did not backup my songs and I did not lose any songs.  I learned that when you uninstall iTunes the database is backed up automatically and put in the "Previous iTunes Libraries" folder.  But if you are worried and want to be ultra safe go ahead and back it up yourself.  Here are the steps to properly uninstall iTunes 10.4 and reinstall iTunes 10.3:

1.  Go to Control Panel>Programs>Uninstall

2.  Uninstall the following Apple programs in the following order:

     a. iTunes

     b. QuickTime

     c. Apple Software Update

     d. Apple Mobile Devices Support

     e. Bonjour

     f.  Apple Appllcation Support

3.  Reboot PC

4.  Find, Download and Install iTunes 10.3 (you can find it at FileHippo.com)

If you start iTunes now you will get an error message saying that the current iTunes library was created by a newer version of iTunes.  To correct this:

5.  Go to your Music>iTunes folder and delete the "iTunes Library.itl" database file

6.  Within this iTunes folder find and open the "Previous iTunes Libraries" folder and locate the most recently dated "iTunes Library (date).itl" database file.

7.  Copy and Paste this file back into the iTunes folder

8.  Rename this "iTunes Library (date).itl" file by removing the date.  It should say "iTunes Library.itl"

9.  Reboot PC

You are finished.  Good Luck and I hope this helps.

I just tried to upgrade iTunes 10.3 to 10.4.1 without uninstalling, and I got the blank iTunes Store window.  However, I was able to successfully upgrade to iTunes 10.4.1 when I first completely uninstall iTunes 10.3 first

I couldn't find 10.3 at FileHippo so instead got it from oldapps.com

I got messed up getting the correct library, used <shift> while opening iTunes, had to go back to an April library.  Maybe if I had been more careful in reading your instructions....

BUT I'M WORKING NOW!  CAN'T THANK YOU ENOUGH!!

Good job, I'm glad you got iTunes working.  As for FileHippo.com, iTunes 10.3 is there.  It does not come up if you search for iTunes 10.3 on the site, but if you search for iTunes 10.4 the most current download will come up.  If you look to the right of the iTunes 10.4 download window there is a column with all the old versions of iTunes available for download.

After a proper uninstallation of Apple software as recommended above, you can install iTunes 10.4.1

I've followed these same steps, and as long at I stay on 10.3, it works fine. However, as soon as I upgrade to 10.4, all the same problems reoccur.  STAY ON 10.3 to be safe!!!!  I'm running Windows 7 Pro, 32-bit.

I had no problems with iTunes 10.4.1 after a complete uninstall of all Apple software in the appropriate order as outlined in the original post.  I did have problems with 10.4.0.8.  Are you trying to install 10.4.1?  But then again there is nothing wrong with running 10.3

thank you - after 2 tries with iTunes support - they kept suggesting i read some KB articles (even after i took all of the KB artical suggestions) and also look on the apple support - why can they not identiy a resolution be "supportive"...oh well.

I found your entry with the subsequent successful responses so I gave it a try.

I followed your steps as given and found the 10.3 on the FileHippo as you described.  I am now able to access the itunes store.  I didn't upgrade to 10.4.x yet - just happy to have what i got...

    thanks!

...but when I upgarded to 10.4.1 - the blank itunes store behavior reappeared...i should have just stayed at 10.3

    :-(

    Back to downgrading again...

I uninstalled in the suggested order and went straigh to 10.4.1 and can access the store - something in the upgrade for 10.3 to 10.4.1 must have fouled something up...I've had upgrade problems before in the past...can apple say 'Unit test/Regression test?"

but again thank you for putting me on the right track to get something to fix the issue...

Many, many thanks to bukifvr! My own experience: I have Windows XP Professional and experienced the same problem for unknown reasons - probably upon updating to iTunes 10.4 (later upgraded to 10.4.1). I did a complete uninstall of 10.4.1 per bukifvr's instructions, and then simply reinstalled 10.4.1. Magic! Problem solved. You can skip the "install 10.3" stage completely. Or at least it worked for me (and apparently Marion123).

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!  I have Windows Vista 64-bit...like many others, I first tried the standard "fixes," spending two days going through all the self-help instructions in Apple iTunes support, including two rounds of emails with support reps.  I'd already thought to try downloading an earlier iTunes version, but after getting the error message about my library being inaccessible due to its having been created with a newer version of iTunes, I was back to square one. Thank goodness I finally scrolled all the way down to the bottom of the page, and clicked on the "iTunes Windows Apple Support Community" link...and found your fix!!  I followed all your instructions, particularly the final step of deleteing the current Library file and re-creating a new Libary from the most recent Library file update.  Opening iTunes 10.3 and successfully accessing the iTunes Store (AT LAST!!), I was unsettled momentarily by not seeing any of my files...then clicked on the link to "Find MP3 and ACC Files"...this began an automatic re-download of my stored music, moves, podcasts, everything!  The MP3 files had been un-categorized and alphabetized, so I have a little more work to do in re-cataloging my music...but no biggie.  MANY, MANY THANKS AGAIN, bukifvr!!!
