Can Virtualbox be used to run PowerPC software

I have a few important applications which are only programmed for PowerPC. I know that these will not be running under OS 10.7 Lion.

So before I upgrade, has anyone experience on installing VirtualBox 4.1.2 for OS X hosts (www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads) in OS 10.7 and then installing OS 10.6 in the "Box"?

Yes, though Apple only allows the virtualization of Leopard Server, or Snow Leopard Server. The VM software will not let you install the retail consumer versions.
