Does anyone know of a firmer more pointed stylus on the market than the pogo stick or targus?

The iPad was not designed for a stylus, it was designed to use a finger. It has a capacitive display which requires the stubby types of styli for the contact to register. A good writing app for the iPad allows you to configure the input from the stylus to the thinness of a fine writing instrument.
The touchscreen on the iPad is "capacitive" which means it functions differently than the old touch screens that used a stylus. For technological reasons, the tip of any stylus must be more rounded.
If you are looking for a finer tip, the best one I've seen is the Wacom bamboo stylus. It's expensive at $30 but it's the cat's meow. Another good one is the AYL stylus on Amazon
Why can't the stylus for the iPad be pionted instead of those rounded rubber balls? There are apps for note taking that a firmer more pointed stylus would sure help with.
