i opened my ipad 1 up to use and pressed the home sreen button and everything was pink lines every where on evry page and in every app i havent even droped it and it is well looked after

Try a reset and see if they are still there after the iPad has restarted : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
If they are still there after the reset then you may need to contact Apple.

thanks anyway it didnt help what would apple do about it because its not under warrenty?
would it be a hardware falt of a software falt
If it's happening on all apps, and on the homescreens, then I assume that it's a hardware fault. Another thing that you could try as the reset hasn't worked is a restore : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4079
Edit : a third option is to then try a reset back to factory settings. Otherwise I think that it will be a hardware fault and only Apple might be able to do something with it.

would i be able to take it to a reseller because im a fare way away from an apple store
It would depend on whether they have any service arrangements with Apple.
