I want to mirror my macbook screen. How can I do this?

I have done some poking around online and I see I can run my MacBook Air through an adapter such as this one http://www.techlink.uk.com/products/wires_cables/iwires/iwires_mini_displayport_ to_hdmi_adapter , but I want to put it out there in the support communities that I really want for Apple to enable screen mirroring through AirPlay on Apple TV.

I have used mirroring with my iPad from time to time for small group presentations and it works fine, so now I want to collaborate with small groups (product display and sales ordering with customers in this case) and it would be much less cumbersome (and much less likely that my staff will lose the adapters) to do it wirelessly with Apple TV rather than having to run an hdmi cable off my Air (kinda weighs it down too don't you know).

If there's something third party that will work, please let me know and I will give it a try. I actually have six of these installs to do in my company and I need to get moving one way or another.

Thanks.

Mate - you are singing from my hymnbook!

There is something amazing about having an ipad2 and being able to present to a boardroom while standing up, moving around and wirelessly presenting - and now I see Macbook Air is really penetrating the office suite - the same is needed - for professional presentations there is nothing better

My only question to you is - now that you can do this with an ipad 2 - and most boardrooms only have VGA projectors - have you figured out how best to get an Apple TV2 to connect to VGA? eg: HDMI - VGA or some other connection?

I think the ability to somehow easily connect an Air TV2 to a VGA and mirror desktops from a Mac will cement the MAC way up the food chain

I recently had the problem of recieving an apple tv as a present and not having a tv that supported HDMI. So i bought an HDMI to VGA converter on amazon to hook into my projector and it works great, Here is the converter: http://www.amazon.com/Audio-Converter-Support-1080P-Output/dp/B0057UNQ18/ref=sr_ 1_10?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1325278757&sr=1-10 This DOES convert the digital to analog, don't be fooled by the silly cables on amazon and such THEY WON'T WORK

I want to mirror my macbook screen. How can I do this?
