Are iTunes store movies in widescreen?

Im looking at several movies in the itunes store. The ones I am looking at are available for RENT only in HD and can be purchased in only SD quality. The info for the movie(s) say WIDESCREEN. Does that mean the SD version for purchase comes in widescreen? Or only the rentable HD version?

I don't want to purchase a movie that lists as widescreen, only to find out later the widescreen is only for the rentable HD version, not the SD purchasable version.

They need to make this more clear for these movies rentable vs purchase.
