Loading screen for iOS webapps

Is there a way to present the user with a loading/startup image with a webapp in iOS the same way you can with a Obj-C app?

I'm currently tinkering with a webapp project and one of the problems is that when it initially loads, it presents the user with whatever they last saw when leaving the app for about 10+ seconds before the site loads. This leads people to think they can start interacting with it but nothing happens and it appears frozen. Having a default loading/startup screen would be a better option. Is there any way to do that?

Gah... always seems like I'm one more minute of research away from answering a question when I post about it. 😁
