Q: No audio device found from Kanex MDP-HDMI to Sony Bravia LCD

I have recently purchased a Kanex Mini DisplayPort to HDMI cable to connect my MacBook Pro5,5 to my Sony Bravia LCD tv. I have my display coming through perfectly however the audio is non-existent. I tried looking for the Sony TV in my list of devices in the sound output tab, but it too is non-existent. I have updated all my software and gone through my Audio MIDI setup trying to see if anything was haywire in there. No clue what to do now, any help??
