Scroll in Aperture browser pane

Is there a fast way to scroll through a large quantity of photos in the Aperture browser pane? The two-finger scroll on the trackpad takes forever.

Things to try:

  • You can change the relationship between the gesture on the trackpad and the amount scrolled. This is set at "System Preferences→Trackpad→Scrolling Speed".
  • You can scroll using keys: "press the J and L keys to scroll backward or forward, and press K to stop. Press the J and L keys multiple times to increase the shuttle speed." Aperture refers to this action as "Shuttle".
  • You can click-and-drag the place indicator in the scroll bar to any position. I do this often to go to the first or last page of thumbnails.
  • You can press (click-and-hold) inside the scroll bar. This is equivalent to "shuttle to this position and stop".
  • You can set your OS X system preferences so that clicking in a scroll bar takes you to that spot (most set this to advance one page in the direction clicked). The setting is on the Appearance tab of System Properties.
