Decide on my own where my backup etc is saved by Itunes

Hi @ll

I´d like to ask how I can prevent ITunes to save backup on my Boot Hard disc.

Problem is that I have a SSD hard disc with very low space which was intended to be used only for windows.

Now Itunes is installed on my second hard disc but nevertheless it saves a lot of datas (around 30gb ) on my boot device.

and now I do not have any free space....

Can anyone let me know how I can change that, so Itunes saves ALL datas on my second hard disc

Thank you in advance and best regards

While it doesn't seem possible to change the location used by iTunes for the backups and other configuration data, you can redirect the backup data to another folder using a junction. Install NTFS Link. Move the folder <Profiles>\<AppData>\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup to another location, then create an empty folder called Backup in <Profiles>\<AppData>\Apple Computer\MobileSync and use NTFS Link to create the junction.

I suppose you could move a higher level folder like Apple Computer in the same way, but the bulk of the data created by iTunes, aside from your library, will be the iOS backup folders. Note that I've tested iTunes with the Backup folder and it works. I've not tested redirects on any of the parent folders and it is worth noting that with general library writes (media etc.) iTunes actually breaks any junctions that have been created. Different parts of the application obviously use different system calls.
