Mac can't find MiFi device.

My MaBook went to sleep due to low battery. When I plugged it in to keep working, it came up as usual; however, the clock/date were wrong. I received two warnings that DNSResponder and (I believe) cgd were trying to access my system and I should deny if I did not recognize them. I denied access. Now my Mac can't find my MiFi device. The device is working fine and I am on it now with my HP laptop. I do have Google Notifier, which may be what was trying to access the system, but I didn't think of that until I had denied access. The warning said possibly someone was imitating a site (I had several tabs open) so I quickly closed everything to prevent someone accessing my system. Any help to correct these settings would be VERY appreciated. I've gone through all the standard diagnositics and they are not working. Thanks!
