"Stuck" mouse (meese? - moose?) won't let go of screen, won't click, arggg!
I'm having a problem with what acts like a "stuck" mouse key.
I have a four year old black MacBook running Lion 10.7.1, plenty of RAM and plent of HD space. All software and hardware that I use have been updated to work with Lion (to the best of my knowledge).
My MacBook will be running perfectly for 15 minutes, 30 minutes - an hour - then completely unexpectedly the Mac acts like I was sitting on a left or right mouse button and then not letting up. For example I may be moving (dragging) window and let up on the trackpad button - but the window keep moving! I might select an application icon, right click to get a pop-up dialog box then try down and try to left click to make a menu choice on the pop-up but nothing happens.
I really feel it is a software problem. I have tried using my Apple metal trackpad, my internal MacBook trackpad, an Apple Mighty Mouse, an Apple USB mouse - even a Microsoft USB mouse - all with the same result.
I've tried shutting down, restarting, taking the USB and Firewire cables out (and back in) and still the same problem.
Any ideas or suggestions? Anyone with the same problem?
Thanks for any and all help.
And of course it didn't do it at the Genius bar, it waited until I got home and started up again. Sigh.....
