Oct 30, 2013 8:25 PM in response to turingtest2by wrstdude,So when I click on the DeDuper file, I only get notepad w/ the script in it. I'm assuming I don't have Windows Script Host running properly...but I'm not sure. Thoughts?

Oct 31, 2013 7:12 AM in response to turingtest2by wrstdude,That's also what I was afraid of. I followed the instructions in that link last night and they didn't lead me to the result that it indicates. I didn't find the values in either location they suggested. Which, as I figured, forces me to try and do about 1000 songs manually.

Nov 5, 2013 4:22 AM in response to turingtest2by AuggieDoggies,I'm using this script and it works as far as sorting out the duplicates but I can only delete them one by one which is going to take ages . Is there any way to remove them automatically ? I'm using Windows 8.1 and the latest version of iTunes.

Nov 5, 2013 5:27 PM in response to AuggieDoggiesby turingtest2,Hi, I suspect you're not using the script quite the way it is intended. You should use iTunes Show Exact Duplicates feature to show all exact duplicates, select them, then run the script and follow the prompts.

Nov 6, 2013 6:55 AM in response to AuggieDoggiesby turingtest2,Oh, I see. It must be some feature of dbPoweramp. I've never seen a dialog box like that. It certainly isn't generated directly by my script.

Yes looks like that alas. I have tried changing the settings in the default program panel for iTunes but that doesn't work. Other than uninstall dBpoweramp I think I'm stuck with it.

Nov 7, 2013 3:34 AM in response to AuggieDoggiesby turingtest2,Not being familiar with the software I'm clutching at straws too, but those "pop-up information tips" might be where the software offers to help if you add new media and warns when you try to delete it...

I think this is not going to be possible with the software I have conflicting with the scipt and iTunes etc . I tried to deselect the pop-up information and did get a smaller box here;
So this looks like a VLC file so I configured iTunes for .m4a and got the same box but with the iTunes 'logo'.

Nov 8, 2013 4:20 AM in response to AuggieDoggiesby turingtest2,That would seem to confirm that dBpoweramp is in charge of the pop-up since changing the option changed the behaviour. You should be able to use task manager (CTRL+ALT+DEL) to shut down the dBpoweramp process so that it no longer interferes.
