Pages Superscript

I think I have a pretty complicated one. I just bought a macbook air 13 and I am typing a physiology essay for pharm school in Pages. I have to use superscript and subscript. I found the shortcuts, control cmd + for super and control cmd - for sub. The subscript shortcut works great and I even notice that the format on the top bar will blink blue when I hit it. However this is not the case for the superscript, the shortcut does not work and the format icon will not blink. I have added the superscript and subscript to the toolbar for somewhat of a fix but I am a fan of keyboard shortcuts. Being new to mac os I thought there may be an easy fix I just don't know of. Thanks in advance.

Ive had this same problem. If you are using a regular keyboard where the "+" is above the "=" on the same key you have to acutally hold

control command shift +

because the plus is actually activated with the shift on top of the = sign.

If you have a keyboard with a 10-key pad on the side then you can use the stand alone plus on the 10-key pad and it will work fine without the shift.

Frustrating but it worked.
