iPad 2 Anti-glare?

I went to the apple store one day asking about anti-glare screen protectors. As I'm already aware apple doesn't sell any screen protectors for iPad or iPad 2. But one of the employees told me that the anti-glare ones are very useful but I would have to do some research to find out which one would work best. I need suggestions and I will disregard anything that has to do with zagg or invisible shield. And anyone who has a used a great shield protector please tell me how they work.

I love the BodyGuardz film protection that I put on the back of my iPad the day I got it in the mail. It is as pristine as that very day. I am not big on screen protectors, especially the anti-glare ones. I have never seen an anti-glare screen protector that did not effect the resolution of the device. That said, BodyGuardz makes good products in my opinion.

Actually, the three from Great Shield are the same price as one from Body Guardz;

These are very different products. The BodyGuardz is made to protect the iPad first and foremost. It is military grade material that is applied to the leading edges of helicopter blades and aircraft wings to protect them. It has a lifetime replacement guarantee. The Great Shield material is not used in those types of settings. Perhaps the reason that there are three in a package is because they do not last very long. But the GS appears easier to put on and take off, and it says that it is washable, so that one is likely easier for you. The BG uses an adhesive and needs to be placed with patience.

In the end you likely get what you pay for; protection vs easy to use.

I use the Speck Shieldview. The plus is that they give you 2 in a package in case you screw up the first one. But you probably won't--they're very easy to put on. Yes, the matte version does make the screen a little fuzzier, but on the plus side you can use the iPad outdoors and use it for a long time without getting eye strain. The best part of it is that it's so smooth it makes swiping effortless and doesn't show fingerprints.

Hello T33zac,

I'm not an optics specialist so I will not

try to explain how AG/Ar coatings enhance

screen protectors nor the original enhanced

IPad2 screen. Screen protectors help prevent

micro scratches when you clean the screen with a micro

fiber cloth. Any debris harder than the glass will

scratch it. Better to scratch a protective cover.

To the last part of your question on how it works:

To the first part, IMHO, iVisor AG by Moshi.

No bubbles, removable, washable and reusable.

I also use an OtterBox defender series but maybe I'm just

over protective.

As the Apple Store folks said do your research for what you

will use your iPad for.

Kind Regards,

A

Hello again T33zac,

remember what the folks at the Apple Store

said about doing your research. IMHO you should

research protective covers with anti glare that

will fill your needs. I use my iPad mainly under

fluorescent or white lights and not out under our Sun.

I do use it sometimes at night with the Star Walk App.

As I posted earlier I do not have a smart cover.

steeleblue may have a good cover suggestion for

your needs.
