What's up with this. New macbook pro, lion, safari and apple's own web browser doesn't play quicktime videos that were made on the same machine and that played before lion update? Works fine in firefox. Hello apple - fix this now!
Before anyone asks all software is up to date
Mac OS X (10.7.1), macbook prop 15"
Check Safari / Preferences - Extensions.
If you have any installed, turn that off, quit then relaunch Safari.
Try a video.
none installed so that didn't fix it and this is true on every computer I have lion installed on but none of the others
Go to Safari / Preferences then select the Security tab.
Deselect: Enable plug-ins.
Quit then relaunch Safari. Try again.
If that made a difference, troubleshooting third party plugins > Unsupported third-party add-ons may cause Safari to unexpectedly quit or have performance issues
All that did was remove the big question mark and failed plug in message. Instead there was just blank space. Problem NOT solved. Still plays fine in Firefox which I think is just weird.
