burn support: unsupported?

hi all,

I have a Power Mac G4 running leopard, I put in an LG DVD burner out of a PC in it. It reads all types of discs no problem. but in disk utility it says that burn support is unsupported. Here is what system profiler says its called HL-DT-STDVD-RAM GH22LP20. Any ideas?

-Thanks in advanced.

PowerMac, Mac OS X (10.5.8), Dual 800mhz QuickSilver, 80gb,1.5gb

yeah i tried burning and it ended with an error, dont remember what it was but i *think* it was "-0". after that i had to reboot the computer because the disc was spinning out in the drive at what sounded like 80mph and would not eject. i put the disc in another computer and it still says its writable so it doesnt look like it did anything to the DVD. and in system profiler i believe it didnt say anything about it being unsupported. only in disk utility.
