Ichat connection problem

I live in Holland, after the 10.4.4 update I can no longer I chat with USA when I start the chat the dial spins then says that I "failed to respond" when I try to chat with my other home computer it works.
when the usa trys to contact me it tells them the same thing that they "failed to respond...any help?

Try Help for iChat AV 3 Problems.

Sometimes it is as simple as adjusting your QT Streaming Speed to match your broadband performance.

If you continue to have difficulty, both parties to your, or to any other, problem chat should test with more than one other user to determine which end of the connection is causing your symptoms. If you do not have enough available buddies for testing, you can find more Buddy Names for iChat Test here.

Hi Atomhead,

You may need to reboot your modem.

If it is a Netgear it may need UPnP to be turned Off then On again.

What OS were you on before 10.4.4 ?

There is no guarantee that this will help, but have you tried disabling the "encryption" option in Security in iChat?

I have noticed some trouble chatting with overseas friends and every time I've had an issue disabling theis option makes things work.
