Boot Camp 3.3 fail to install on my iMac

Hi,

My iMac is running with Windows 7 Pro x64 wit Boot Camp 3.2. When I try to install Boot Camp 3.3 with Apple Software Update it ask me to reboot and I still have Boot Camp 3.2 running on my machine.

If I download Boot Camp 3.3 and execute it manually, it give me an error message : Fail to install Boot Camp Services (or something like that, as it is in french)

I used to have issue to install Boot Camp 3.1 and 3.2 where the only option to setup it that I find in this forum was to extract the setup files and run manually the BootCampUpdate64 file. Unfortunatly I cannot do that anymore with 3.3 as it is in a package that I cant extract.

Any idea on how I can fix that ?

Hmmm. My 3.3 update came from Apple Software Update within Windows. Subsequently I downloaded it for later, but have never use that particular installer.

Can you run Software Update from within Windows and see if 3.3 installs ok that way?

Same issue here on an Early 2008 Mac Pro running Win 7 Ultimate. Also tried Boot Camp 4.0, but that installation fails as well.

Check to see under device manager if you have more than one display adapter installed. Uninstall if any, other than the iMac original display adapter, that should fix your problem.

Under Device Manager / Display Adapter I found the LogMeIn Mirror. After its uninstall the Boot Camp 3.3 update finally worked!

Kudos to you E39M5, I did have the VNC Mirror driver in my display adapters. After having removed it and launch Boot Camp 3.3 as an administrator, it did setup perfectly.

No additional display adapters. Also disabled a few items that were reporting errors (firewire drivers). Still no luck. Any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated.

The most common cause of this is 'LogMeIn' which adds an additional display adaptor (LogMeIn Mirror or something like that). If you delete that then you can then upgrade your Boot Camp to 3.3.

Have you found a solution yet? I'm still searching for one. No additional drivers and no VNC installed. Thought it might Splashtop Streamer, but it doesn't install an additional driver like LogMeIn does. Also tried removing Sata and USB PCIe cards. Still no luck. In a last ditch effort I tried to uninstall Boot Camp Services completely which also failed.

My iMac is running with Windows 7 Home x32 with Boot Camp 3.2 and i have the same problem with installing of Boot Camp 3.3. Any of above advices has not helped to eliminate the problem.

If possible, any more ideas, please. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can extract using UniversalExtractor or WinRAR.

Some of driver can not be extracted by itself under windows 7 64x

Just install Apple/x64 folder ONE by ONE,

and, Unextract Asix, Atheros, Broadcom, cirrus, IntelMng... and install using DPInst or Setup.
