SD card reader not working after upgrading to Lion.

The built in SD card reader on my mid2010 MB Pro stopped working after upgrading to Lion. What should I do?

Mac OS X Lion 10.7.1 (11B26)

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.1)

Same problem. SDHC/SD/MicroSD+Adapter cards will not mount. Noticed after updating to 10.7.2 (11C73) or perhaps iTunes 10.5.2. MacBook Pro 15", Mid 2010.

The USB Prober shows that the Internal Memory Card Reader is suspended with the card in the reader. Checking "Probe suspended devices" and also tapping the card in as suggested in another thread does not mount the card. The card mounts fine using an external USB card reader and was mounting in the internal reader just a week or two ago prior to updating iTunes or Brother Printer Software with Software Update.

Im having the same problem, I've only had my MBP a month though :[. The SD reader worked fine until today, and I tried putting the computer to sleep, waking it, restarting, completely shutting down and turning back on and STILL it won't read my card :[. I've tried taking it out and putting it back in about 50 times, because I read if you insert it too slow it won't read, and I also tried a USB card reader but its old so I dont think the MBP is compatible. If anyone has any other suggestions I'll try anything. Should I ask to exchange my unit or is this an issue with Lion?

It's definitely a Lion's issue as I rolled back to Snow Leopard after struggling with the card reader and surprise....all my cards can be seen again and my MacBook early 2010 works perfectly. Just as it was working before I purchased Lion. What to do? Well I guess there is only one way to fix the problem. We should demand from Apple to debug Lion from this and many other errors in the code. Overall I am not very impressed with my first Lion encounter and will stay on Snow Leopard untill people would be able at least to use the MacBook hardware properly under any Lion built. I have also had so many other issues with Lion that it may take a few hours to list and it's not a purpose of my visit of this thread. Cheers to all and stay cool.

I've recently re-installed Lion as a fresh install, downloading the latest install from the Apple servers, and now my USB and SD Cards are not recognised, nothing happens when plugging them in, I've even installed a Windows partition and tested and it still doesn't work.

I'm trying to restore the EFI from 2.6 to the 1.9 restoration CD but the process listed on the support site doesn't work, my Macbook doesn't do the rapid blinking 3 times thing ....

Not happy.
