How do you set up a Regression Analysis in Numbers?

Or, if it is linear regression,


Set up two columns in your table, one is for X and the other for Y

Use the SLOPE, INTERCEPT, FORECAST, and/or LINEST functions to do the analysis.


If it is nonlinear regression and you know the general equation for the fit (an exponential equation, for example), use formulas to transform your data into a linear equation then do linear regression.


With a few columns of formulas you can determine coefficients of a polynomial.


The charting method suggested by Jerry is by far the easiest but the precision of the coefficients given by the chart are only to three decimal places. Sometimes that is enough, sometimes not.
